IDE600 Vietnam ID Card Reader with Optional Face Matching
Read Vietnamese ID card QR codes and NFC chip data, including the chip-stored portrait. Add the optional camera to capture an on-site facial image and compare it with the portrait from the card.
Designed for system integrators building identity-data capture workflows at service counters and self-service terminals.
Built for your integration
- QR + NFC workflow: Read the card QR code to obtain the information needed to access supported Vietnamese ID chips.
- Chip portrait retrieval: Read identity information and the stored portrait.
- Optional face matching: Choose the camera configuration when your application needs on-site capture and 1:1 comparison.
- Windows SDK and samples: Integrate card reading and camera capture using C#, Java, Python or C++ sample code and a WebService example.
Compatibility: Confirm the exact card generation and project requirements with RTscan before deployment. MRZ reading is not currently supported.
Connection
Product Demo & Operation Video
From card QR code to NFC data
The IDE600 reads the QR code on supported Vietnamese ID cards, then uses the required access information to read the NFC chip. The resulting data includes identity information and the chip-stored portrait.
NFC data reading alone does not establish document authenticity. Any chip-authentication or external verification requirements must be confirmed separately.
Optional 1:1 face comparison
With the optional camera, capture a facial image at the point of service and compare it with the portrait retrieved from the ID chip.
Liveness detection is not supported. Face comparison does not by itself detect presentation attacks or establish document authenticity.
Adjust the camera for your counter
The camera configuration includes a tilt-adjustable camera head. Position it for the intended service-counter layout and validate capture conditions.
Flexible Installation Options
The terminal is engineered with dedicated mounting screw holes on its bottom shell. This thoughtful design provides dual-installation flexibility, allowing businesses to securely mount the device on desktop surfaces for stable countertop operations or seamlessly integrate it directly into self-service kiosks and enclosure cabinets, making it an ideal choice for system integrators.
Modular Design with Detachable Live Face Capture Camera
The IDE600 features an innovative, highly flexible modular architecture. Its vertical live face image capture camera is fully detachable, intentionally engineered to adapt seamlessly to different applications. This 2-in-1 hybrid design offers exceptional versatility for diverse deployment scenarios:
- With Camera Module (Full eKYC Terminal): Ideal for high-security environments requiring real-time biometric verification. The camera pillar secures seamlessly to the base, enabling 1:1 face-to-chip matching to eliminate identity fraud.
- Without Camera Module: For self-service terminal embedded use or for applications focused purely on data entry, age verification, or background check protocols where facial capture is unnecessary, the camera can be completely omitted or detached. The main unit transforms into a compact, minimalist, standalone NFC ID reader.
Application Scenarios
Banking & Financial Services (Counter-Based eKYC)
Provide supported Vietnamese ID card data and a chip portrait to a bank’s onboarding workflow. The host system remains responsible for its verification and approval process.
Hotel & Hospitality Applications (Front Desk & Self-Service)
- Hotel Reception Desk Check-In: Accelerates the mandatory guest identification process at the front desk, reducing wait times and human errors in data entry.
- Self-Service Check-In Kiosks: Thanks to its bottom screw-hole design, it is ideal for seamless hardware integration into 24/7 hotel check-in kiosk terminals.
Government & Public Sector (Administrative eID Verification)
- Public Service Centers: Speeds up citizenship verification workflows for passport issuance, driver’s license renewals, and social benefit distribution.
- Tax & Social Security Registration: Validates identities to eliminate fraudulent claims and duplicate digital identity profiles.
Telecom & Mobile Operators
- SIM Card Registration: Ensures compliance with national anti-fraud regulations by matching the user’s face with their official ID chip data during SIM card activation.
- Postpaid Plan Onboarding: Authenticates identity profiles to mitigate contract fraud and fake subscription registrations.
Commercial Smart Access & Enterprise Security
- Visitor Management Systems (VMS): Placed at corporate front desks or reception areas to authenticate external visitors and issue secure access credentials.
- High-Security Facility Control: Deployed at entryways of research labs, data centers, or secure warehouses to combine government-issued credentials with real-time biometric authorization.

Integration questions
Does IDE600 read passports or MRZ?
MRZ reading is not currently supported. For passport projects, discuss the IDE500 passport scanner and confirm the required document support.
Which software platform is supported?
Windows is supported. Linux and Android are not currently supported. SDK examples are available for C#, Java, Python and C++, plus a WebService example.
Is the camera required?
No. The camera is optional. Include it when your project needs on-site facial capture and comparison with the chip portrait.
What should I provide for an integration review?
Share the ID card generation, host operating system, required data fields, camera requirement, mounting constraints and expected quantity. Ask RTscan to confirm the SDK package, supported card versions and test procedure.
Does IDE600 support liveness detection?
No. The optional camera supports facial capture and face comparison; liveness detection is not supported.
