Fixed Mount Barcode Readers
Here is the complete list of RTscan's fixed-mount barcode readers & embedded barcode scanners. All of them are 2D readers that read QR codes, DM, PDF417, etc.
- RT240 has an LED aimer. It is featured by REACH Certification / IEC62471/EN62471 LED / Special design to protect users' eyes / Enhanced illumination / Excellent reading performance / Easy mounting design.
- RT242 series also has an LED aimer but features a thin design, which can be embedded in all kinds of thin devices. The RT242 series includes a standard range version RT242-SR, a short distance version RT242-SD, and an extended range version RT242-ER.
- RT241 series has a laser aimer. The RT241 series includes a standard range version RT241-SR, a short-distance version RT241-SD, an extended range version RT241-ER, and a high-resolution version RT241-HD.
- IDE237 reads PDF417 codes and OCR-B/ machine-readable zone data on ID cards, driver's licenses, and passports. It can also be used as a high-resolution barcode reader thanks to its 1280*800 imager sensor.
- The RT234 is an IP54-rated industrial 2D fixed-mount scanner for dust- and water-sensitive applications. Its sensor is 1280*800, making it a high-performance scanner.
- RT870, RT830C, RT830D, and RT860D are used for near-field use. Users usually place the barcode close to the scanning window, and the scanner automatically detects and reads the code.
- RT860D features an enhanced image processing chip, a larger scanning window, and a 1280 pixels (H) x 1024 pixels (V) image sensor; it is designed for applications that require high-speed code reading, such as Self-checkout/POS Kiosks in retail.
Tip: A fixed-mount scanner like RT240, IDE237, or RT234 can read at greater distances because it provides more concentrated, intense illumination, while an embedded scanner like RT870 or RT830C is used for near-field bar code scanning.
For example, we usually choose a near-field scanner, such as the RT870 or RT830C, for a turnstile or vending machine. In contrast, we would select a far-area scanner like the RT240 for the parcel locker stations (but if the scanner is only used to read a phone code, a near-field scanner like the RT870 or RT830C would be the priority again).
